The striker was on the receiving end of Mancini’s scorn at the weekend for picking up two bookings during City’s defeat to Arsenal.
The manager declared that the striker would not play for the team again this season and admitted that it was likely he would be sold in the summer, opening up speculation with a return to Italy for the youngster.
However, the player has since publicly apologised, whilst his agent has intimated that the desire is there to stay with the English club, two actions that Mancini has responded to with a message.
“He must change his attitude. I’m happy with the decision, but if Mario wants to stay with us then he has to change his mentality.
“I have spoken to Mario many times to explain that it is important that he changes the way he behaves. I do not think we can stay in Manchester together for 10 years, so I hope that something with Mario’s mentality will change in the coming months.”
