Man United and Atletico call Inzaghi, but Inter prepare contract offer

According to Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper, Simone Inzaghi’s agent has received calls from Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, but Inter are preparing a contract extension offer for their coach.

The former striker replaced Antonio Conte in the summer, signing a two-year contract with the Nerazzuri.

Inzaghi won his first trophy in charge of Inter on Wednesday and the Serie A champions are on top of the table with just one defeat in 20 matches.

Inter have also qualified for the Champions League Round of 16 for the first time in ten years.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Inter’s results and playing style have attracted some of the best European clubs. Manchester United and Atletico Madrid have reportedly sounded out the coach’s availability.

No formal talks are ongoing, but both European giants could change their coach at the end of the season and are keeping an eye on Inzaghi.

However, Inter have already decided to extend with the 45-year-old and will place their offer at the end of the season.

Inzaghi could extend until 2025 and see his current salary doubled. Inter want to wait until the end of the season before extending with their coach, being aware that Inzaghi has attracted interest from other top clubs in the old continent.
