Bologna boss Alberto Malesani has asked his team to “completely isolate” themselves from the financial chaos at the club.
President Sergio Porcedda put the side up for sale after he was deferred to the Disciplinary Commission for allegedly failing to cover unpaid wages, something that could prompt a three-point penalty.
“We have to completely isolate ourselves, otherwise we'll end up stuck in a black hole,” warned the Coach.

“The financial problems have nothing to do with us. It is pointless getting upset about something that, I am convinced, will in the end be resolved.
“Perhaps I am an exaggerated optimist, but I believe someone will go with their heart and ensure Bologna do not disappear. That is the most important thing.”
It seems Malesani is not entirely new to this sort of situation in his career.
“I had a similar experience the year we were relegated at Hellas Verona. They didn't pay the wages for seven months and we went into Serie B in the final round.
“However, I have seen teams that saved themselves, even with bankruptcy right behind them.”
The Coppa Italia Fourth Round starts this week with Bologna taking on Cagliari at the Stadio Sant'Elia on Thursday.
This evening there will be Udinese-Lecce and Genoa-Vicenza, while tomorrow there are Lazio-Albinoleffe and Catania-Brescia.
Completing the round are Chievo-Novara and Fiorentina-Reggina on November 30 and Bari-Livorno on December 1.
