Malesani calls for patience

Bologna Coach Alberto Malesani has asked for more time amid speculation that his job is on the line.

The Felsinei currently lie second from bottom in Serie A and have only won once so far this season.

Bologna's owner Sergio Porcedda was furious with Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Cagliari, partly because he is Sardinian.

Quoted in this morning's Il Corriere dello Sport, Malesani tried to reassure the fans that he can turn the team's fortunes around.

"I understand you," he said. "You are coming off 10 years of disappointment, but the team is young and it takes patience.

"We will resolve all the problems one step at a time.

"The squad will be streamlined in January and I will ask the directors for some specific signings," he concluded.
