The Rossoneri are top of the Serie A table, unbeaten since the lockdown was lifted in June and flying high in the Europa League too. Is there the risk they could get complacent?
“This is the test of maturity, of consistency that we’ve already shown over the last six months,” Maldini told DAZN.
“This is a game against a team with a lot of strength, pace and quality, plus it’s at an unusual kick-off time, so it’s a real test for us.
“We always knew our players had quality and they’d need time, but having a team structure that works well helps the less experienced ones to come through.”
Maldini was asked about the Scudetto talk now circulating around Milan after they went 23 games unbeaten.
“I always tell the lads not to put limits on themselves and to be ambitious. I also like to keep my feet on the ground, as our objective should be to improve and hopefully qualify for the Champions League.
“If we do find ourselves in a positive situation, then why not try?”
