Maicon believes Inter were ‘beautiful’ defensively during their 0-0 draw with Napoli and that ‘hammer’ Luciano Spalletti is the right Coach for them.
Last Sunday’s result meant Inter had held Napoli to two stalemates, and while it was followed by Spalletti accusing his side of ‘lacking quality’, Maicon was pleased with what his former club served up.
“I liked the match a lot, even if it was a 0-0,” the ex-Brazil right-back told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I saw lots of tactical ideas and a beautiful Inter team against a side that are above them in the table.
“Napoli play the best football in Italy, I follow Serie A, even from a distance. The Nerazzurri defence and their whole mechanism are working very well, otherwide they would’ve been able to shut them out twice.
“Who did I like? Skriniar. He was very strong in central defence and is a very good player. Memories of Spalletti? More than positive ones.
“Even though we only worked together for a short time, I have pleasant memories of him. He’s a very good Coach and he hammers you every day. The Inter players are calm: even after a good 0-0 with Napoli, they’ll work like they always have.”
