Lukaku: When does new Roma striker meet Inter in Serie A? Will he play against Milan?

Romelu Lukaku has already worked with his new Roma teammates at Trigoria but is not expected to start against Milan on Friday, while the Belgian will meet his former club Inter for the first time on the weekend of October 29.

Over 5,000 Roma fans welcomed the Belgian forward at Ciampino Airport on Tuesday and, according to Sky Sport Italia’s Roma correspondent Angelo Mangiante, Lukaku trained with his new teammates on Wednesday morning.

He had been training separately at Chelsea earlier this summer, so he is not at the peak of his form. Therefore, it’s unlikely to see him start against Milan on Friday even if, according to Sky Sport, he should be available and could be introduced in the final minutes of the second half.

Lukaku had refused to return to Inter earlier this summer by not replying to calls from his ex-teammates and directors.

He will face his ex-club on the weekend of October 29 at San Siro. FIGC will announce the date and time of the game on September 6. Roma and Inter meet again at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on the weekend of February 11, 2024.
