Liverani states that he is contemplating whether to switch from a four-man to three-man back line for the game against the Gialloblu.
“We are evaluating the structure of the defence, continuing with three at the back is a solution,” said Liverani in his press conference.
“The game will be a demanding challenge, against the surprise package of the season and to which I give my compliments.”
Liverani says Verona’s organisation is their biggest strength.
“Their weapon is certainly the organisation that the team has, which enhances the quality of their players in the team.
“They made life difficult for us in the first game earlier this sseason, but we didn’t deserve to lose it.
“This game is the right opportunity to prove that we have closed the gap in recent months.”
Lecce signed Riccardo Saponara from Fiorentina this week, but Liverani says he isn’t match fit yet.
“Saponara had chosen us since December, but he has been training alone for a month. From Tuesday he will train with the team. He can only increase the quality of the group.”
Asked for an update on his squad, Liverani says they are getting players back.
“Zan Majer, Marco Mancosu and Filippo Falco are called up, they are trying to find their best condition.
“Marco Calderoni is recovering. As for Diego Farias, instead, he will need a couple of more weeks before returning.”
