Although Rafa Benitez has never won away to Arsenal in the Premier League, he is also unbeaten against Arsene Wenger in four Champions League fixtures.

The Partenopei are unbeaten in all competition so far this season, dropping points only once in a 1-1 Serie A draw with Sassuolo.

However, Higuain has not recovered in time from a muscular problem that he picked up during the 2-0 win over Genoa on Saturday.

Pipita was particularly hoping to start this match, as he was so close to joining Arsenal over the summer before Napoli swooped, but medical staff urged caution with so many tough fixtures coming up, so Higuain is not even on the bench.

Raul Albiol also had a thigh problem, but has been passed fit to start, so Pandev, Insigne and Jose Maria Callejon lead the attack with ex-Liverpool star Pepe Reina in goal.

Arsenal go into this game without Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Abou Diaby, Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo.

Tomas Rosicky returns to the line-up after a hamstring injury he sustained while on international duty against Italy and ex-Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini starts.
