Leonardo ‘will talk to Chivu’

Leonardo concedes Inter improved considerably after the break and “will deal with Cristian Chivu internally.”

The Nerazzurri earned a 3-0 win away to Bari, but it was still goalless when Chivu escaped punishment for punching Marco Rossi in an off the ball incident.

“I will talk to him about that incident,” commented Leonardo when viewing the replays. “It's not right and we will deal with the situation internally.”

There is no doubt the Disciplinary Commission will also take action using video evidence and Chivu is set for a hefty ban.

“Bari played well. In the first half we didn't get the ball forward enough and it's true that if there had been chances or a goal, then the game could've changed then.

“We struggled mainly to win back the ball, as in the first half we did that too deep and then struggled to go on the counter.”

With other results going their way in the midweek round, Inter have climbed to third place and have a game in hand.

“From the seven Serie A games we have won six, but there's no need to pass judgment now.”
