Lecce have announced that they will appeal Gianluca Lapadula’s two-match ban for his attempted headbutt on Cagliari’s Robin Olsen.

Lapadula quite literally lost his head after he scored a penalty during Lecce’s 2-2 with Cagliari on Monday.

However, Olsen was ordered to miss four games for his role in the incident, which saw him throw his arm at the striker’s chest.

Lecce’s President quickly leapt to his defence of his No 9, accusing the Cagliari goalkeeper of playacting.

Now, a statement on the Salentini’s official website confirms they intend to appeal both the ban and €10,000 fine.
