Lazio to hijack Torino target?

Lazio could hijack Torino’s deal for Lucas Verissimo as his agent confirms ‘we’re awaiting developments’ with the Aquile.

Lazio are in the market for a new centre-back after losing Stefan de Vrij to Inter, while Verissimo was reportedly closing in on a move to Torino.

However, Eurosport reports the Granata’s offer of €6.5m plus €1.5m in bonuses and a 10 percent sell-on clause has failed to convince Santos.

“Verissimo has experience and maturity and is ready to play in Europe,” Maria Pereira told Laziochannel.it.

“He’s worth around 10m, but those who want him can do a deal [with Santos]. We’re also awaiting developments with Lazio, but we’ve also had contact with Torino executives.”
