Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri will reportedly meet Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare this week to decide whether or not to extend his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.
The ex Napoli, Juventus and Chelsea coach signed a two-year deal with the Bianconcelesti in the summer and had reportedly reached an agreement to extend his stay until 2025 in December.
However, Lazio’s disappointing transfer activity in the January transfer window put talks between the two parties on hold. Club directors also have doubts regarding Sarri’s future, especially considering their 3-0 loss in the Rome derby before the international break in March,
The coach and Lotito met last week and according to Il Messaggero newspaper, there will be a new meeting between the two parties on Wednesday. This time, Igli Tare will also attend the summit where both the club and the 63-year-old will make their requests regarding the future. According to the report, Sarri expects to be more involved in the decision process during the market.
On Saturday, Lazio beat Sassuolo 2-0 and have 52 points in 31 games. They are seven points behind fourth-placed Juventus.
