Lazio ready to close out deal for Spezia’s Provedel – report

Lazio are reportedly ready to close out a deal for Spezia’s Ivan Provedel after a positive meeting with the goalkeeper’s agent tonight.

The Biancocelesti have been looking for a new shot stopper to pair with new signing Luis Maximiano following the departures of both Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina earlier this month. Lazio have had their eye on Provedel for a little while now, believing he’d be a strong fit for Maurizio Sarri’s tactical system.

As reported by TMW, Lazio president Claudio Lotito met with Provedel’s agent tonight in Formello to try and reach an agreement on the agent commissions attached to the deal. A breakthrough was reached and now the Roman club just need the green light from Spezia to close out a deal.

The Ligurian side are looking to replace the Italian with either Fiorentina’s Bartlomiej Dragowski or Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi. The latter was once a target for Lazio before they changed focus due to Atalanta’s high valuation.
