Reports in Germany and the Corriere dello Sport now suggest that Lazio are targeting Xabi Alonso to take over the role of experienced elder midfield statesman.
The 33-year-old only joined Bayern Munich a year ago for €10m following his spell at Real Madrid, but his contract is due to expire in June 2016.
