Divock Origi has been ruled out of Milan’s Dubai Super Cup clash with Liverpool through injury, giving Marko Lazetic the chance to start.
The two sides are facing off in a friendly at the Al-Maktoum Stadium in Dubai, giving them the chance to build match fitness ahead of the second half of the season. With the World Cup starting to draw to a close, clubs are keen to be fully prepared for a tough six-months.
Origi will not feature against his former club after suffering a muscle injury, putting teenager Lazetic into the starting line-up. Yacine Adli has been included and Tommaso Pobega has started as a full back.
Liverpool have a rotated squad but a number of first team regulars are present, like James Milner, Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
Milan are looking to close the eight-point gap to league leaders Napoli in the second half of the campaign, whilst Liverpool are desperate to break back into the top four of the Premier League.
The starting line-ups for Liverpool vs Milan:
Milan (4-2-3-1): Mirante; Kalulu, Thiaw, Gabbia, Pobega; Krunić, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Adli, Rebić; Lazetić.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Kelleher; Milner, Matip, Gomez, Robertson; Bajcetic, Thiago, Elliott; Salah, Firmino, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
