Lautaro Martinez has become only the third player in history to reach double figures for Inter goals in the opening eight Serie A games of the season.
The Argentina international and World Cup winner found the net this afternoon with a scorching right-foot strike from distance against Bologna at a packed San Siro.
That was his 10th Serie A goal in only eight rounds, a tally only achieved twice before in the history of this club.
The only forwards to have done this were Giuseppe Meazza with his 11 goals in 1935-36 and Antonio Valentin Angelillo with 16 in the 1958-59 campaign.
With 10 goals after just eight games, Lautaro Martinez is on track to set a new personal best in Serie A and potentially be the heir to last year’s Capocannoniere, Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
Lautaro Martinez already bagged 21 Serie A goals in both the 2022-23 and 2021-22 campaigns, but could go even better on this kind of form.
