Inter captain Lautaro Martinez could be set to miss the upcoming visit from Lecce in Serie A on Saturday evening, as he did not train with Simone Inzaghi and the rest of his teammates on Friday, according to the latest reports.
Lautaro Martinez doubt for Inter ahead of Lecce
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, the Nerazzurri talisman did not train on Friday, as he is currently suffering from muscular fatigue in one of his adductors.
Martinez started for Inter in their first Serie A match of the 2024-25 campaign, a 2-2 draw away to Genoa, but he has not been able to complete a full pre-season of training.
It was a busy summer for the 25-year-old, who became a Copa America champion with Argentina, finishing as the tournament’s highest goalscorer with a tally of five.
He returned slightly ahead of schedule in order to be available for selection for the first game of the season. His return coincided with a slight injury suffered by summer signing Mehdi Taremi.
Fortunately for the Nerazzurri, Taremi was also fit enough to appear from the bench against Genoa, while Marcus Thuram got off to a flying start with an impressive brace last weekend.
