Napoli have got themselves a gem in Georgia international Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, assures Willy Sagnol. ‘He will certainly become a top player in Italy.’
The deal was done a couple of months ago, just after he left Rubin Kazan and joined Dinamo Batumi at the end of March, a decision made following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
He has already signed the contract with Napoli and the transfer fee is believed to be in the region of €10m.
Only turning 21 in February, the versatile attacking winger has been lighting up the Nations League with some stunning goals, as he has eight in 16 senior caps.
“If Napoli decided to sign Kvaratskhelia, it’s because they saw something in him that is outside the ordinary,” said Georgia coach Sagnol.
“He is very talented, I agree with those who say Kvicha has something special, and you haven’t seen everything he can do yet.
“He will certainly become a top player in Italy.”
