Victor Osimhen might be leaving for Galatasaray, but Napoli are on the verge of signing a new contract with star man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The 23-year-old will have an even more central role in the squad now that Osimhen is moving on to Turkey on loan.

According to Il Mattino newspaper, the club and his agent have been able to work out personal terms to extend the current contract with a significant pay rise.

He was still on the same deal that he signed when arriving from Georgian club Dinamo Batumi in the summer of 2022 for €13.3m.

That earned him only €1.5m per season, a pitiful amount for someone who has contributed 26 goals and 27 assists in 92 competitive games.

The new deal is set to be worth circa €5.5m per season plus another €1.5m in add-ons for each year.

It will be extended from the current date of 2027 to June 2029, but there could also be an option until 2030.

There is to be no release clause included, despite an attempt by his agent to get that written in.
