Kucka: ‘Parma are not having a good time’

Midfielder Juraj Kucka admitted Parma are ‘not having a good time’ but vowed to ‘not give up’ and ‘fight’ for safety in Serie A.

The Ducali sit 19th in the table after 28 games, four points behind safety and only one win in their last 19 League games.

Roberto D’Aversa left the Gialloblu last summer and was replaced by Fabio Liverani ahead of the 2020-21 season but returned in January when the former Lecce coach was sacked.

Kucka said ‘it turned out the mistake was not with the coach’, as Parma have continued to struggle in the wrong end of the standings but promised the Crociati are ‘not giving up’.

“There have been some changes, but most of the players have already experienced coach D’Aversa,” he said, according to SportItalia.

“We went back to what we have already tried. It turned out that the mistake was not with the coach.

“The game has improved, but in several cases, we have not been able to close the games. That’s how we have lost a lot of points.

“We are very sorry for this, but we want to try to make another miracle happen. We are not having a good time, but we still feel a possibility and we are not giving up.

“We will continue to fight.”

Parma continue with an important trip to Benevento on April 3, when Serie A resumes after the current international break.
