Kompany sure of ‘great’ Belgium

Belgium captain Vincent Kompany is convinced of his team’s credentials heading into this summer’s World Cup.

The European nation open their Group H campaign today against Algeria and are many people’s tip as dark horses for the tournament.

Speaking at a Press conference ahead of the clash with the North Africans, the Manchester City defender described his side’s preparations as perfect and stressed there is no need for them to feel under pressure.

“There is no reason to be nervous or under pressure, our preparation has been perfect,” he told the gathered media. “I am sure we will do great things.

“I have always dreamed of the World Cup. But I am not here just to play in it, the objective has to be the maximum.”
