Justin Kluivert says the Europa League fixture between his former clubs Roma and Ajax can go either way and insists he doesn’t regret joining the Giallorossi.
Kluivert had joined Roma from Ajax in a €17m deal in 2018. He then joined RB Leipzig on loan from the Giallorossi in 2020.
“I started some games and scored goals at Roma, but things changed after the pandemic, so I moved to Leipzig,” Kluivert told Algemeen Dagblad.

“I don’t regret joining Roma or Leipzig. Nobody knows how things would have been if I had stayed at Ajax. Sometimes, I think I could have been part of that amazing Champions League campaign,” the Dutch winger added.
Roma meet Ajax at the Amsterdam ArenA tomorrow in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.
“It’s a pity the game was not played last season,” Kluivert said.
“I know both teams very well. It’s hard to predict who will qualify for the semis.
“It depends on how the teams feel. I am surely going to enjoy the game.
“I curious to see how the match develops and how Ajax will face Roma. I like Ten Hag, we worked together for six months and we had a good relationship.”
