Miroslav Klose has thanked Lazio for revitalising his career ahead of Euro 2012. “I have found a family here.”
The German international was snapped up as a free agent last summer from Bayern Munich and was a revelation, scoring 13 goals despite missing two months with an injury.
“Leaving Bayern Munich was certainly like leaving my family, but I have to say coming to Lazio I found another family here,” the striker told WeltOnline.
“I often have to disguise myself when I go out in the streets of Rome so the fans don’t recognise me, as they are rather passionate.
“I’ve found a very professional atmosphere that is also relaxed and calm, without excessive pressure.”
Klose is particularly geared up for Euro 2012, as it his hosted by Ukraine and his homeland Poland.
“Poland remains in my heart and leaving it was an unforgettable moment. As soon as my family got to Germany, we decided to start again from scratch.”
