Khedira joined Juventus from Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer of 2015. He scored 21 goals in 145 games in all competitions with the Serie A giants and won nine trophies, including five Scudetto and three Coppa Italia.
He lost the 2017 Champions League final at hands of Real Madrid.
Khedira will return to Germany with quite a few pieces of silverware, but his six-year spell in Turin was also affected by several injuries.
According to Transfermarkt, the 2014 Germany World Cup winner missed 92 games because of physical problems while at the Allianz Stadium.
He underwent two different knee surgeries in 2019 and in the same year he was treated for a heart problem that forced him out of action for more than a month.
The former Germany international refused to end his contract with Juventus at the beginning of the season, but he has now reached an agreement to leave the club six months before the expiration of his contract.
Khedira was left out of Juventus’ Champions League list this season and hasn’t played a single official game with Andrea Pirlo in the dug-out.
