England and Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane was on the verge of joining Livorno in 2013, revealed Marco Amelia.
The goalkeeper spent some time in England at Chelsea and has now retired, but has always been close to Livorno President Aldo Spinelli.
This story had already done the rounds a few years ago via Sky Sport Italia and other sources who remembered the initial approach.
At the time, Kane was a reserve player for Tottenham and sent out on various loan spells to Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich and Leicester City.

“In 2013, Harry Kane was very close to Livorno and Spinelli is still kicking himself now,” laughed Amelia on Mediaset this evening, after the hat-trick in a 6-1 World Cup victory over Panama.
“It was the player at the time, still very young, who decided he wanted to stay in England.”
