La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights that the collapsed swap deal between Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku over the summer turned in the Bianconeri’s favour as their striker has netted 15 Serie A goals this season against the Belgian’s nine.

Vlahovic inspired Juventus’ 3-2 win over Frosinone on Sunday with two goals and one assist. This means the 24-year-old has found the net 15 times in Serie A this season and only Inter star Lautaro Martinez has more with 22.

Vlahovic has also become the most prolific player in Europe’s top five leagues in 2024.

As highlighted by Monday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus must be delighted that a swap deal involving Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku didn’t materialise over the summer.

Juventus and Chelsea didn’t reach an agreement over the strikers’ price tag, so Vlahovic remained in Turin and Lukaku eventually joined Roma on a dry loan deal.

Journalist Andrea Masala wrote on Gazzetta’s page 21 on Monday that Vlahovic has been ‘more efficient’ than the Giallorossi star this season.

Lukaku has netted nine goals in 22 Serie A appearances, 16 in 32 across all competitions. The Chelsea loanee has scored one goal every 172 minutes for the Giallorossi this term.

Vlahovic, on the other hand, has 15 goals in 25 games across all competitions for Juventus and has found the net every 109 minutes in 2023-24.
