Rome-born Peluso has been heavily linked with a move this summer after impressing last term with Atalanta upon their return to Serie A.
The 28-year-old has previously been linked with Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina and even Manchester City, but reports still hold that Juve are closest to agreeing terms with both the player and his club.
However, the Bianconeri are also thought to be reluctant to bring in the defender until current deputy full-back Ziegler is moved out.
The Swiss left-back joined the Turin club last summer but was immediately shipped out on a season-long loan to Fenerbahce. Whilst figuring in pre-season so far, the 26-year-old is understood to still not feature in Antonio Conte’s plans for 2012-13.
Lazio, who missed out on Federico Balzaretti, are reported to have shown an interest, with sporting director Igli Tare rumoured to have already returned to talks with Juve over a possible move for the former Sampdoria man.
