Juve: ‘No Buffon or Aquilani problem’

Juventus insist there is “no Gianluigi Buffon problem” and tell Liverpool that Alberto Aquilani's clause is “negotiable.”

The newspapers are full of reports that the goalkeeper is heading away from Turin in the summer, most likely towards Roma.

“There is no Buffon problem. He is a Juventus player, just like the others and we have an excellent rapport with him,” said director general Beppe Marotta.

Buffon has not played in the last two games due to a flu virus, replaced admirably by Marco Storari.

“When he fully recovered from the back surgery, he went straight into the first team. When the medical staff tell us he is clear to play, then he will.”

Aquilani is on loan from Liverpool and it's reported Juve are trying to negotiate a discount on the £16m buy-out clause.

“Aquilani has been a pleasant surprise and we're glad to bring such an important player back to the Nazionale.

“Clearly we all intend to sign him permanently. We currently have a buy-out clause that we consider to be negotiable and these are the typical issues that go on within the transfer market. We'll discuss it with Liverpool at the right moment.”
