Juventus’ fine handed out to Arturo Vidal for reporting in for training late on Friday was reportedly €100,000, with their ‘patience at its limit’.

The Gazzetta dello Sport yesterday reported that the Chile international’s absence from the starting line-up to face Roma on the Sunday was due to a disciplinary measure, rather than a technical choice.

Today the publication follows this up by asserting that the fine handed out to the 27-year-old was €100,000, a figure they state is ‘proportional to the disappointment felt by the club’ towards their joint highest paid player.

The Gazzetta also suggest that Juve’s patience with the player, who was also apparently late to training on the previous Thursday morning following the midweek return from Madrid, has pushed Juve’s patience ‘to the limit’.

Vidal was the subject of much speculation during the summer linking him with a move to Manchester United, and the implication is that should a €45m offer arrive from the Red Devils, it could be accepted.
