Juve ‘fail in Godin hijack’

Juventus have reportedly failed in an attempt to hijack Inter’s deal for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juve tried to snatch Godin away from Inter but soon learned the stopper had already committed himself to joining the Nerazzurri.

Indeed, the broadcaster claimed last month that Uruguayan had already agreed personal terms with the Beneamata and passed a medical prior to his free transfer.

The Bianconeri are likely to pursue defensive reinforcements this summer, given they sold Medhi Benatia in January, Andrea Barzagli turns 38 in May and Martin Caceres is only contracted until the end of the season.
