‘Juve can recover, Roma inconsistent’

Juventus can recover ‘to reach first place’ but Roma ‘lack consistency’ according to Alberto Zaccheroni.

The 62-year-old spoke to Radio Anch’io lo Sport about the Serie A season so far, and believes the Old Lady are still in with a shout for the title despite their sluggish start.

However, the former Bianconeri Coach has criticised the Giallorossi players for failing to maintain the same level of performance for two weeks in a row.

However, the former Bianconeri Coach has criticised the Giallorossi players for failing to maintain the same level of performance for two weeks in a row.

"None except Juve can reclaim enough points to reach first, they are the only one but I still don’t think they’re as well tuned as they should be,” he said.

“They’ve lost personality and conviction, reference points and orchestration of their game. In terms of their squad, however, nobody is like Juventus.

"Roma lack consistency, their game is not as fluid as that of Napoli. Against Inter they rarely took advantage of the outside lanes, then too many players do well one Sunday and don’t the week after.”
