Juric ‘satisfied’ with Verona’s performance

Ivan Juric said he is satisfied for Verona’s performance against Genoa and insisted the Giallublu are the ideal club for Nikola Kalinic.

"I’m satisfied with the performance I think we made a good match,” Juric told Sky Sport.

“We had 14 corners, [Mattia] Perin made great saves. We missed the winning shot.”

"Today there were only two starters from the team of the last season.

“There were some guys born in 2000 and 2001, they have talent but our goal is to survive, become tough and improve.

“I’m not complaining [for having young players]. It’s interesting and challenging but it would be nice to start the season again with those players you’ve already had and two or three new signings.

“It’s much more challenging because I also have to reset, I need to have patience and pass this on to my players.

"The concepts are the same as last season but now we play more with the centre forward while last year we played more with the wingers. We try to adapt.

“Kalinic already moves in the right way, I think he will take at least two weeks, maybe a month, to be ready, hoping that everything goes smoothly. However, I believe a lot in [Andrea] Favilli and [Samuele] Di Carmine. We can improve.”

The Croat had his debut with the Gialloblu tonight.

"I think I was clear with him before he came here,” Juric said.

“I told him straight, if he agreed to come in a smaller team for him, he should know what it means.

“We want to go slowly with him, we don’t want him to get injured and he’s had a good attitude. Here there is less luxury but if he likes football that’s the ideal place to be.”
