The Gialloblu beat the Puglian side 3-0 in a one-sided game, and Juric says he was impressed by their first half performance.
“The first half was excellent, we created a lot without giving away anything,” said Juric in his post-game press conference.
“I wanted the ball to move faster in order to finish the game, because Lecce recovered from our attacks several times.”
14 different players have scored for Verona this season.
“The lads all work hard, even those who don’t play are ready. [Pawel] Dawidowicz hasn’t played for a long time but has made a difference. Surely this helps.”
Verona now sit in ninth position and only two points away from a Europa League spot, so is it right for the fans to dream of Europe?
“It’s fair to dream. I don’t. You have to think like a few months ago, the balance is subtle. You have to face matches like this, but the goal remains to avoid relegation.
“We can’t dream of anything more yet.”
Juric was asked if he will stay as Verona coach next season.
“This is not the time to say it, first we have to avoid relegation, then at the end of the season I will sit down at a table and see what the ideas of the club are.
“They were honest with me, I really appreciated that.”
