Jovetic: ‘Staying at Inter’

Stevan Jovetic says he’s staying at Inter, promising ‘I’ll be better next year’ and underlining that ‘I prefer Italian football to the English game.’

The Montenegro international arrived on loan from Manchester City last summer but had an inconsistent campaign, scoring six goals in 26 league games.

“Overall I’m happy with my first season at Inter,” Jovetic told Blic.

“At the start I played well and I was starting games, but then I ended up on the bench.

“I can’t do anything, that’s football. I signed a contract for three years with Inter and I’m doing really well in Italy. I prefer Italian football to English football.

“I’ll be better next year. I’m sure that I will get more chances to show my value on the pitch, and my intention is to make the most of them.

“At the start of the season we thought could and should finish third. But from January we started to lose so many points, especially at home. There was a decline and in the end we paid the price.”
