Italy international Jorginho says he is happy at Chelsea amid constant speculation over a return to Serie A, but ‘there is a lot going on and we don’t know.’
The former Napoli midfielder is linked with a return to Italy almost every summer but has been a regular at Stamford Bridge since joining in 2018.
Asked whether this year he could leave, he told Football.London: “Of course, I love Chelsea. I feel very well here and of course, I’d like to stay.
“But you know, there is a lot going on and we don’t know. As I said before, I am here now and I have contract and I love to be here, I feel very well here. So I don’t think about moving anywhere.
“For many years now [there is speculation]. Every single year! I don’t think like this. I just think about where I am and focus 100%. I’m at Chelsea and I think about Chelsea 100%.”
Jorginho arrived at Chelsea alongside manager Maurizio Sarri in a double swoop from Napoli and helped the club win the Europa League in his debut season, which also culminated in third-place finish in the Premier League – up two positions from the previous campaign.
His crowning glory, however, came in 2021 when he was a central figure in the side which won the Champions League with victory over Manchester City in Porto.
Later that year, he helped Italy win Euro 2020 to propel himself into Ballon d’Or contention.
Jorginho, 30, has made 188 appearances in total for Chelsea and scored 26 goals.
As well as the Europa League and Champions League, he has also won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup with the west London club.
