Italy will face Spain, the Netherlands and Croatia in the Nations League Final Four in June 2023, as Alvaro Morata sealed a late victory in Portugal.
The last squad was confirmed following this evening’s head-to-head between Portugal and Spain for the top of Group 2.
Portugal went in knowing a draw would be enough to secure their place, while Spain needed a victory to leapfrog them and reach the next stage of the tournament.
It was heading for a 0-0 draw until the 88th minute, when Nico Williams knocked a Dani Carvajal ball back across the six-yard box for ex-Juventus striker Morata to tap in and give Spain victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo almost equalised in stoppages, but Unai Simon parried an angled drive with his leg at the near post.
The venue has not been officially confirmed, but UEFA are expected to assign it to the Netherlands.
The Final Four will have two semi-finals played on June 14 and 15, 2023.
The winners then face off in the Final on June 18.
Earlier that same day, the two losing sides will play each other to decide who gets third place.
A draw will be performed to see which two teams go head-to-head in the semi-finals.
France won the Nations League in 2021, while Portugal took the inaugural trophy in 2019.
