Alessandro Florenzi missed today’s training in Coverciano and won’t be available against Switzerland, while Marco Verratti remains in doubt.

The Azzurri trained at their training ground in Florence today and the former PSG defender was the only one who didn’t show up on the pitch due to a calf injury, reports Sky Sport Italia.

Florenzi will miss Wednesday’s game against Switzerland while his former PSG teammate Marco Verratti is in doubt for the game, although he trained with the rest of the team in the last two days.

Italy doctor said on Sunday Verratti is in the final stage of his recovery.

Domenico Berardi resumed training today after picking up a knock in the opening game of Euro 2020 on Friday. He will be available against the Swiss on Wednesday.

Francesco Acerbi spoke to the media today, wishing Christian Eriksen a speedy recovery and acknowledging there is a ‘special atmosphere’ at Coverciano. The defender said he had had similar feelings with Lazio before Serie A was suspended due to COVID in March 2020.

Serie A clubs and Italy to take first aid courses after Eriksen incident

Andrea Belotti released an interview with UEFA.com warning Italy’s opponents that the Azzurri want to go all the way through and win the European Championships.

Italy players will soon begin a first-aid course approved by the FIGC after Eriksen’s incident this past weekend.

The team will move to Rome from Florence tomorrow, and Roberto Mancini will hold a pre-match press conference on the eve of the second game of the group stage against Switzerland.
