The Aquile impressed against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, but have to bounce back from a poor start in Serie A.
Tomorrow, Bologna arrive in the Italian capital and Inzaghi wants to see the same ‘aggressive and determined’ Lazio he witnessed against the Bundesliga side.
“We played a great match on Tuesday, while three days before we had another,” Inzaghi said at a press conference. “It’s a question of motivation and those who play for Lazio can’t lack that.
“Against Dortmund we were aggressive and determined.”
The coach said Pepe Reina could play his first game against Bologna tomorrow and said Akpa Akpro is ready to start at the Olimpico.
“We will see in training today, yesterday those who played didn’t do much. I have to evaluate, the important thing is the mental recovery.
“The head helps you perform. I really wanted Reina, he’s a reliable goalkeeper. He could possibly play, he will give [Thomas] Strakosha a breather when he needs it.”
“Akpro arrived this summer with great humility. He worked hard everyday to win a place in the side. Against Bologna it will be an insidious match, the Rossoblu have collected less than they deserved.”
Inzaghi knows Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic well and expects a ‘demanding match’ against the Rossoblu.
“We have met Mihajlovic many times,” he said. “We must play our match and show our characteristics like we did on Tuesday.
“We must help each other; it will be a very demanding match. On Tuesday Luiz Felipe played after 35 days with only one training in his legs.
“[Wesley] Hoedt knew the system already and his teammates, he did well when he entered against Dortmund.
“Vavro is recovering, but I haven’t seen him for three days due to an intestinal problem. We need all the players to help us rotate as we are playing every three days. It should be a good thing.”
But Inzaghi admitted Sergej Milinkovic-Savic could miss out on Saturday night.
“He took a blow on Tuesday and forced him to substitute. Yesterday, he wasn’t able to train, today we’ll see.
“I will decide whether to start him or involve him off the bench. We must look at the conditions of [Andreas] Pereira, [Danilo] Cataldi and Armini.”
Vedat Muriqi has been tipped to start against Bologna but Inzaghi says he hasn't decided and confirmed all four attackers are available.
“In attack, I fortunately have all four at my disposal. It’s important, both who starts and those who enter during the game.
“Today’s training will help me understand who I will start.”
