Simone Inzaghi gave a light-hearted interview today where he commented on fantasy football, the personalities in the Inter dressing room and which players he’d take to dinner.
The 46-year-old Italian coach took over in the Lombardy capital last year after Antonio Conte departed, and he had a fairly successful first campaign with the Nerazzurri, finishing only two points behind Scudetto winners Milan and winning both the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. He’ll be hoping to overtake Inter’s intercity rivals in the fight for the Scudetto in the upcoming season.
Speaking to Gli Autogol, Inzaghi first gave his thoughts on fantasy football, an incredibly popular part of following Italian football for many fans.
“I don’t play it and never have. But my son Tommaso already calls me a few days before the match to get information about the line-up. The days before, us coaches are already confused by ourselves.”
He revealed who are the most interesting characters in the Nerazzurri dressing room.
“The guys are all nice, Brozovic and Barella are the most lively, imaginative. Handanovic is nice but he has his own ways and times, he’s our captain. De Vrij is also a lot like him.”
Finally, Inzaghi spoke about who of Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella and Romelu Lukaku he’d take to dinner.
“I would take Brozovic to dinner, because Lukaku has to be fit and Barella would make me spend too much on wine!”
Inzaghi is currently hard at work with the Inter squad at their pre-season training camp, working to be ready for the upcoming campaign.
