According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have more influence on the Nerazzurri transfers once he signs a new deal with the Serie A champions.

Inzaghi will soon sign a contract extension at the Stadio Meazza and Gazzetta confirms that the Nerazzurri boss will get €6.5m including add-ons with his new contract.

This would allow him to temporarily become the highest-paid coach in Serie A, waiting for Antonio Conte’s appointment as the new Napoli coach. In fact, Inzaghi’s predecessor at Inter is expected to earn €8m per season at the Stadio Maradona.

According to Gazzetta, Inzaghi’s new contract won’t only raise his salary, but also his power and influence at the club.

The pink paper claims the coach will have the ‘power to ask for reinforcements’ and block the potential exit of top players. Of course, this condition may change only if the club receives huge offers.

Gazzetta claims Inzaghi has already identified three reinforcements for his Inter side in 2024-25, plus Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski who have already signed for the Nerazzurri.

Inter will be looking for a fifth striker, a new centre-back and a goalkeeper who can become a replacement for Yann Sommer in the near future.
