Inzaghi: ‘Immobile coming to Lazio’

Simone Inzaghi confirmed Lazio “must do everything to keep Keita Balde Diao and Ciro Immobile is on his way” from Sevilla.

The Coach spoke to reporters after a 1-1 friendly draw with Spal.

“Jordan Lukaku has arrived and will challenge Stefan Radu for a place. Immobile is on his way and something will happen in defence. We’ll see who else turns up.”

Immobile is set to join from Sevilla for a total of €10m, likely spread out between a loan with mandatory option to buy and bonuses.

“The club is working, we speak daily. If Candreva leaves, then we’ll get a winger too. I would’ve used Keita today, but he had a fitness problem and we preferred not to risk it. From Tuesday he’ll be with the squad too.

“Keita is a player I really want to focus on, as he gives us the opportunity to break games open. We must do everything to ensure he stays with us.

“He has offers, the club and Coach want to keep him. It’s up to him to decide whether he stays or goes. It’s a situation we need to sort out over the next few days, as it’s harmful to the balance of the squad if it drags on.”

Candreva is in negotiations with Inter after failing to agree personal terms with Napoli.

“He does seem pretty certain to be leaving, but what I can say is that he’s a great player,” added Inzaghi.

“Lucas Biglia is our captain and must be a starting point for the team. He’s one of the best in the world in his position.”
