Inter work to sell Jovetic

Inter are reportedly working to sell Stevan Jovetic before the end of the current transfer window.

The Montenegrin is on loan from Manchester City, but there is an obligation to buy inserted into the deal.

Once Jovetic plays a match for the Nerazzurri this season, they must pay €14.5m to make the deal permanent, while if the forward doesn’t play the clause is activated if the Beneamata are in the top-three in December.

Once Jovetic plays a match for the Nerazzurri this season, they must pay €14.5m to make the deal permanent, while if the forward doesn’t play the clause is activated if the Beneamata are in the top-three in December.

According to calciomercato.com, Inter are looking to sell Jovetic for around the €14.5m, in order to raise funds for other transfers.

While they would merely be breaking even in such a deal, it would leave an extra €14.5m in the budget for this summer, which had been projected as an outgoing expense.

Fiorentina are thought to be interested in bringing him back to Artemio Franchi, but would be unable to afford the €14.5m, let alone the player’s €3m salary.

Meanwhile, English clubs are also thought to be keen but are only offering a loan deal, something the Nerazzurri can’t do unless they buy Jovetic permanently.

It’s thought that’s the reason ‘Jojo’ sat on the bench for the entirety of the defeat to Chievo, as Inter don’t want to buy him without knowing they can quickly sell him on again.
