Inter are reportedly unwilling to increase their Nicolò Barella offer, so risk losing the Cagliari midfielder to Roma after weeks of talks.

According to the Italian news agency ANSA, the Nerazzurri are not prepared to get involved in a bidding war with Roma, who offered €35m plus striker Gregoire Defrel for the Italy international.

They will reportedly instead let the 22-year-old push for a move to San Siro, as he has his heart set on joining the Beneamata this summer.

Meanwhile, CEO Beppe Marotta will reportedly meet with Rossoblu President Tommaso Giulini tomorrow while they both attend the Lega Serie A assembly.

Inter won’t budge from their proposal of €35m and the loan of two youth team players to Cagliari.

Several newspaper theorised this morning that Inter would respond by threatening to activate the €30m release clause in Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini’s contract.
