Inter vs Lecce – Probable line-ups and where to watch on TV

Mehdi Taremi scores penalty for Inter 11 minutes into pre-season friendly against Las Palmas (July 27, 2024)

Mehdi Taremi is expected to replace injured Inter captain Lautaro Martinez in the Nerazzurri’s first home Serie A game of the season against Lecce.

It kicks off at 20:45 CET (18:45 GMT) at a sold-out San Siro.

Lautaro Martinez didn’t train on Friday, so he won’t be available. He’s expected to be replaced by Mehdi Taremi, making his debut as a starter with the defending Serie A champions.

Stefan de Vrij and Tajon Buchanan are also out of action for the Nerazzurri.

Denzel Dumfries is favourite over Matteo Darmian on the right flank, and Benjamin Pavard will return to the starting XI, joining Alessandro Bastoni and Francesco Acerbi.

Italy international Davide Frattesi is still expected to go on the bench-making room for Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the starting formation.

Lecce coach Luca Gotti only has a couple of line-up doubts, with Filip Marchwiński or Hamza Rafia starting as an attacking midfielder and Lassana Coulibaly favourite over new signing Balthazar Pierret.

Only Mohamed Kaba and Joan González are not available for the Giallorossi.
