Inter trio face injury tests

Radja Nainggolan also picked up a muscular problem during Inter’s 3-0 win at Bologna, so needs tests along with Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez.

The Nerazzurri had to reshuffle their line-up with Keita Balde Diao as the centre-forward at the Stadio Dall’Ara on Saturday evening.

Nainggolan made his Inter debut and scored the opening goal, but he limped off with a recurring issue in the flexor of his right thigh muscle.

The Belgian had already missed most of pre-season with a muscular injury and will now require tests to see if he has done more damage.

Icardi failed a fitness test and wasn’t even on the bench against Bologna, so his thigh issue needs to be evaluated too.

The same goes for Lautaro Martinez, as Luciano Spalletti confirmed the young Argentine felt the “hardening” of a thigh muscle in training and didn’t want to risk making the situation worse.

Serie A goes into a two-week break for international duty, so there is time to fully recover.
