Atletico Madrid striker Alessio Cerci remains the club's number one objective, but can only be moved on loan.
The Nerazzurri have been active in the pre-mercato weeks for a winger, having already shown interest in Genoa's Diego Perotti, as well as having probed for Chelsea's Mohamed Salah.
According to Tuttosport, Inter will be holding a transfer summit today to define the strategy in view of the winter window.
Their number one target is still Cerci, but the ex-Roma starlet cannot be acquired in full because of the UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations.
The transfer will therefore only be possible if Atletico accept to move him out on loan.
Should the deal not go ahead, the club will fall on one of a number of alternatives, such as Perotti or Salah, but also Liverpool's Fabio Borini, Arsenal's Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski.
There is interest also in Liverpool's Lucas Leiva, to satisfy Mancini's request for a midfielder.
