Inter to earn more from ticket sales than Milan in UCL semi-final

Despite the fact that Inter and Milan are playing in the same stadium, the former will earn more than the latter in ticket sales for the Champions League semi-finals.

The first leg of the European Derby della Madonnina saw around €10,461,705 earnt from ticket sales, with more than 75,000 spectators attending the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for the Champions League semi-final.

It was a tense and thrilling affair at San Siro, a match that Inter won 2-0 after early goals from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, leaving Milan with a mountain to climb in the second leg.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter expect to generate around €12m from ticket sales for the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Milan, receiving more due to their slightly more expensive ticket structure.

With the demand for tickets predictably high, the Nerazzurri are also working on trying to limit the frustrations of scalping.

The club have announced it will not renew season tickets of fans who legitimately purchased tickets for friends and family at the first release before turning around and selling them on the secondary market.
