Inter receive Lautaro Martinez and Dimarco injury boost

Inter stars Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco completed a full training session with the rest of the team on Thursday and are expected to be available for the first game of the year against Hellas Verona.

The Argentinean striker and the Italian defender had missed the last two games of 2023 due to muscle injuries but are expected to be back on January 6, 2024, when the Serie A leaders host Hellas Verona at the Stadio Meazza.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, both players trained with the rest of the team on Thursday morning and although it is not yet guaranteed they’ll start the next match, they will surely be available for Simone Inzaghi.

Lautaro is Serie A’s leading scorer with 15 goals in 16 league games. He will sign a contract extension until 2028 this month.

Dimarco has three goals and five assists in 21 appearances across all competitions this season and penned a new deal until June 2027 last week.
