Inter continue to sit in pole position to acquire the services of Davide Frattesi despite Juventus’s acting sporting director Giovanni Manna holding talks with Sassuolo President Giovanni Carnevali on Wednesday afternoon according to reports.
La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that up until a few weeks ago, the Bianconeri thought they were leading the race to sign Frattesi from Sassuolo this summer, but interest from Inter has complicated proceedings.
As per La Gazzetta, Juventus are unwilling to participate in a bidding-war for the Frattesi and that Sassuolo’s current asking price of €40m is thought to be too expensive for the current circumstances the club finds itself in.
Inter are reported to be in the best position to offer both Sassuolo and Frattesi a suitable deal, although there is still interest from Roma in the mix as well.
Juventus, are persisting though, and will not give up on trying to force through a deal for the 23-year-old, who made his debut for the Italy national team last summer.
